Northern Tasmania
- rolling farmland dotted with small towns and a few larger
regional centres such as Launceston and Burnie. The eastern
coastline in particular has many quiet and uncluttered beaches
from Mount William National Park in the north-east to the
beautiful Freycinet National Park on the central east coast.
Popular holiday spots include St Helens, Bicheno and Coles
Bay.

| Central Tasmania is a plateau with spectacular
national parks and many lakes and rivers with unique
high country flora and fauna. It's famous for bushwalking
as well as fishing, canoeing, climbing and other outdoor
activities. |

There are plenty of national park campsites to stay at although
quality guesthouses tend to be near major towns. The
walks themselves have basic hikers' huts to provide
extra shelter after a day on the trail. |
